Letter from our President:

When I enrolled in the respiratory therapy program at El Centro Community College in Dallas, TX, in 1974, I could never have imagined what a rewarding career I had chosen. When I retired in 2004, my professional experiences included pediatric and critical care, chronic disease management and related research, teaching for Project HOPE in Costa Rica, and working for the non-profit National Lung Health Education Program (NLHEP). The most satisfying part of the job was collaborating with other health care professionals, physicians, occupational and physical therapists, and nurses, helping to make breathing a little easier for those with acute and chronic lung problems. My career has been a gift. Now it is time to give back.

My husband, David Hulett, and I have established the Lawrence Respiratory Foundation Professional Achievement in Respiratory Care (PARC) scholarship fund. This scholarship will be awarded yearly to a senior respiratory therapy student at National Park College in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

For the graduating class of 2019 we were able to award one $1,500 scholarship.  Thanks to generous donations,  we were able to award two $1,500 scholarships for the 2020 graduating class.  For 2021 we raised the amount to $1,800 and awarded two more.  Your help is needed to continue awarding these important scholarships.

The Lawrence Respiratory Foundation is an all-volunteer organization with 100% of all donations going directly into the PARC scholarship.   The Foundation has been deemed by the Internal Revenue Service to be a tax exempt 501 (3) (c) organization and donations are tax deductable .

Please consider donating to this scholarship fund. It is a gift that will keep on giving.   You can donate directly to the Foundation by clicking on the Donate Button.  You will be directed to PayPal.com.  but a Paypal account is not required to make a donation.
